History
In August 2003, we suffered a great loss at the passing of Jim McGee. Jim was a skillful engineer, a good businessman, a devoted family man, and a true friend to many. His experience and many contacts helped build a solid foundation for the company. Several of the McGee Partners employees worked with Jim for many years; his skills, wisdom, judgment and integrity were valued by all. It is upon these principles that we continue to build the company. We miss Jim as our coworker and friend.
During his 45 years in the transportation industry, Jim McGee contributed to countless projects that were vital to the success of Georgia’s infrastructure. He spent 32 years with the Georgia Department of Transportation. While at the Department, Jim’s responsibilities included Senior Materials Test Engineer, State Highway Maintenance Engineer, Director of Administration in the Office of State Aid, Director of Planning and Programming, and Deputy Commissioner. Following his distinguished career in the public sector, Jim entered the consulting engineering practice, where he was essential to the growth and success of the transportation department at Jordan, Jones, and Goulding. In 2002, he co-founded McGee Partners, where he served as Chairman and CEO.
Ed Bragg was also a founding partner of McGee Partners. With over 40 years of experience in the transportation industry, Ed was vital to the development and growth of the company. Ed worked for the Georgia Department of Transportation for 34 years, lastly serving as the State Aid Administrator. In 2008, Ed entered into well-earned retirement. His contributions to McGee Partners were invaluable.
